Khandala

Feeding Cow Cows in India are considered holy and feeding them is believed to cut down sins and get good results .. Hence outside many hindu temples we find people sitting with cows so that visitors can feed them grasses and laddus .. |
|
A Beggar Most whether it is Temples or Church or Mosque, beggars are found at all religious places .. |
|
The Lady with a smile When I went to Khandala vegetable market to shoot, most sabziwalas out there were irritated, angry and shouting.. This lady caught my eyes because of her smile .. |
|
Village Morning This is a village is near by Khandala .. Early in the morning I decided to go for a walk, with my camera of course .. I personally love village life because there is so much less stress and so much more peace there .. In villages life dances its its own pace .. The routine and lifestyle in villages is so simple .. Though being used to the technology and luxuries of life it is now impossible to live in a village for any of us, but at least once in an year everyone should visit villages just to rest in the lap of the mother nature .. |
|
Helping Hands As I walked further I saw a few ladies near a hand pump filling water.. I clicked 8 pictures at this site but this one is my most favorite .. Firstly how this young lady is helping the old woman, and secondly both are wearing green .. And their bangles are green too .. |
|
Sleeping Man It's funny the way this man is sleeping .. It teaches us that to sleep all we need is "sleep" and not a comfortable bed :) |

Seeking eyes
I was walking the streets of khandala when I saw this man gazing at nothing. He didn't even realize that I was clicking his pictures. Don't know what was it that he was seeking.

Burdened This is life. What seems to be weak proves to be stronger, and what seems to be stronger is always dependent. What we see is not always the reality. |
|
Dragon Fly I'm not too fond of insects and animals. But this was definitely interesting and I wanted to experiment with my new 200 mm lenses ;) |

Varanasi
Varanasi, Kashi or Benaras.. The city of Gods.. The most cultural city of India. Luckily it's my birth place and I get to visit it almost every year. In last 24 years I have seen no major change in that city.. the food, the cows on every street, the rikshawals, the paanwalas, the gobar (cow dung), 5 am Ganga Snaan (Ganga Bath) and the morning aartis (prayers). This city has maintained its culture. This city is a photographer's paradise.

Ganga Namaskar
Everyday early in the morning, people of Varanasi (also known as Benaras and Kashi) take bath in river Ganga and make an offering to the Sun. Ganga in India is personified as a goddess and bathing in it is believed to remit sins and facilitate liberation from the cycle of life and death (MUKTI). Gangajal is considered pious and people carry it with them to different cities and countries. |
